Dr. Gregg Tolliver grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, and attended college at University of California San Diego. He went to University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, Arizona. During medical school, he traveled and studied extensively in Central America, and became fluent in Spanish. He also worked in Pakistan on a medical anthropology scholarship.

For residency training, Dr. Tolliver relocated to the Boston area and completed a Primary Care Internal Medicine residency at The Cambridge Hospital. He then attended Harvard School of Public Health with a focus on International Health. Under the guidance of the well-known infectious disease physician Dr. Paul Farmer, Dr. Tolliver worked with Partners In Health in Mexico. Dr. Tolliver then completed his fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Boston Medical Center.

In 2004, Dr. Tolliver relocated to Marin where has practiced Infectious Diseases in a variety of settings including Novato Community Hospital, Kentfield Rehabilitation Hospital, San Quentin infirmary, the Thomas Steele Clinic, and MarinHealth Medical Center. Dr. Tolliver enjoys working with patients from all means and walks of life. He enjoys assisting the physician community in Marin with infectious disease cases. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he also assists the Infection Control Departments of MarinHealth Medical Center and Novato Community Hospital as well as teaching hospital staff.

Dr. Tolliver lives in San Rafael and enjoys hiking and biking in Marin with his wife and two young boys.
