Bruce Braden Honored with the Outstanding Philanthropist Award

We are pleased to share that Bruce Braden has been honored with the Outstanding Philanthropist Award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals!

This award is presented to an individual or family with a record of exceptional generosity who, through direct financial support, has demonstrated outstanding civic and charitable responsibility.

As a philanthropist, Bruce Braden is a critical thinker, a creative problem-solver, and an advocate for personal enrichment. Following a diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes at age 38, he co-founded the Braden Diabetes Center. Bruce is dedicated to providing the same level of support and education for others less fortunate. That dedication is also reflected in serving on Marin Hospital’s board for the past 11 years. He has also served on the board of the Smuin Contemporary Ballet for the past 15 years.

Education in all areas is essential to Bruce’s philosophy. In helping to create the Stanford Storytelling Project and the LifeWorks Program for Integrative Learning at his alma mater, Bruce wanted students from any discipline to benefit from the arts. Fulfilling the business side of his wide-ranging interests, Bruce earned his graduate degree at Golden Gate University School of Taxation, now known as the Bruce F. Braden School of Taxation.

Through both his personal and philanthropic endeavors, Bruce Braden has demonstrated that the pursuit of well-rounded life is ultimately the most rewarding.
