The Radiology team at Marin General Hospital is dedicated to providing Marin with the finest quality imaging services, using the most advanced technology and a skillful, compassionate approach to care. Radiology is an area of medicine that focuses primarily on the diagnosis of disease through the use of imaging methods. Our expert team uses state-of-the-art computer technology along with radiation, sound waves, and magnetic resonance to diagnose ailments. Marin General Hospital also excels at Interventional Radiology, a rapidly growing area of medicine which involves the use of imaging guidance to perform minimally invasive, targeted procedures, often as an alternative to conventional surgery. Our expert Radiology team includes:
- Radiology technologists – Highly trained, licensed individuals who perform x-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and aid the Radiologists in interventional procedures
- Radiologists – Physicians specially trained in interpreting the images produced by the radiology technologists, our radiologists are board-certified in Radiology and many have advanced accreditation in sub-specialties including Mammography, MRI, CT, and IR
- Interventional radiologists – Radiologists who have undergone special training enabling them to perform procedures that can actually treat disease rather than simply diagnose it
Keeping Up with the Latest Advancements
Radiology technology is always evolving towards clearer, more detailed imaging and new, minimally invasive procedures. Marin General Hospital's Imaging Services strives to stay on the cutting edge of technology. We now have direct digital x-ray units at our main campus and our Marin Outpatient Imaging Center (MOIC). This advanced technology reduces x-ray exposure to our patients, improves clinical outcomes, and provides greater efficiency.
Accreditation from the American College of Radiology
