Health and Wellness Plans

MarinHealth Medical Center provides regular full-time and part-time employees (minimum 0.5 FTE) with a comprehensive health care package:

Medical Through United Healthcare (UHC)

  • PPO medical plan: Participants in this plan have the flexibility to seek care in- and out-of-network, with lower out-of-pocket expenses by remaining within the national network of providers. You do not need a referral from your Primary Care Physician (PCP) to seek care from a specialist.
  • HMO medical plan: Participants in this plan may receive services only within a network of providers. You are required to have a Primary Care Physician (PCP), who must refer you to any specialist. You have the benefit of low out-of-pocket expenses and no deductible for services.

Dental

Our dental plan is administered by Delta Dental and covers in-network preventive dental care in full, with no deductible or copays. Other dental care services are covered with a minimal co-pay. You may use out-of-network dentists as well, but your coverage will not be as comprehensive. $2,000 annual benefit per individual.

Vision

Our vision plan is administered by Vision Service Plan (VSP) and includes benefits for eye exams, lenses, frames, and contact lenses.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) save you money by allowing you to pay for certain eligible medical and dependent care expenses, with pre-tax dollars:

  • Health Care Spending Account
Health Care Spending Accounts are designed for medical, prescription, dental and vision care expenses you expect to incur for you and your eligible dependents during the plan year that are not covered or reimbursed by any healthcare plan.
  • Dependent Care Spending Account
Dependent Care Spending Accounts allow you to pay for eligible dependent care expenses on a tax-free basis.
  • Commuter Accounts
We also offer both Transit and Parking accounts to allow you to pay for eligible commuter expenses with pre-tax dollars.

Education Reimbursement

MarinHealth Medical Center encourages and assists its team members to further their education in areas that will contribute to the improvement of their current job function and/or enhance their abilities, for potential advancement within the hospital.

Life, AD&D, and Long-Term Disability Insurance

MarinHealth Medical Center provides economic security for your family if you die, become disabled, or experience an injury or illness. If you are in a benefits-eligible class, MarinHealth provides, at no cost to you, both basic employee life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance. You can also purchase additional voluntary life and AD&D coverage for yourself and your dependents.

Long-term disability insurance (LTD) provides you with a monthly income if you become unable to work due to illness or injury. LTD insurance is provided by MarinHealth at no cost to eligible employees and others may purchase a voluntary LTD plan.

Time Off and Leaves of Absence

Our Policies & Procedures or the applicable Collective Bargaining Unit can provide information on various leaves of absence, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation, holidays, personal or family illness, or personal business. Employees may also be eligible for extended sick leave (ESL), depending on contractual agreements.
