The Family Birth Center requires all mothers expecting to deliver their baby at Marin General Hospital to pre-register during the second trimester. This way, arrivals are anticipated and expectant mothers in active labor are quickly admitted.

Upon receipt of the pre-registration form, MGH will verify the insurance coverage and, if necessary, will contact the patient to arrange for a deposit.
Many insurance companies require pre-certification for hospital admissions. Please check with the insurance carrier for more information. Failure to obtain pre-certification may result in the insurance company asking the patient for a greater portion of the hospital bill.
