Marin General Hospital’s Family Birth Center today said that 1,788 babies were delivered in 2007 and that Sophia/Sofia and Dylan/Dyllan were the most popular names.

New linear accelerator for Marin Cancer Institute
The first of two new Varian linear accelerators is treating patients at the Marin Cancer Institute. The $2.5 million Varian iX was installed in July and is now treating more than half of all radiation therapy cases, according to Dr. Chun Li, the institute’s medical physicist. The Radiation Therapists named the new machine Xena, Warrior Princess.
Robotic surgery system planned for MGH
Marin General Hospital is in the final planning stages of implementing the daVinci Surgical System, a new, state-of-the-art robotic technology that assists surgeons during minimally invasive or laparoscopic surgeries.
MGH Lactation Center Honored by Sen. Migden
California State Senator Carole Migden honored Marin General's Lactation Center during a Mother's Day press conference promoting the importance of breastfeeding. Moms and their babies, hospital staff, nurses and physicians attended.
MGH Volunteers donate almost $270K
CEO David Bradley accepted almost $270,000 from the hospital Volunteers during their annual luncheon at The Spinnaker Restaurant in Sausalito. The money represents the fundraising efforts of over 400 Volunteers and will be used to support a variety of healthcare and community programs.

A $1.3 million CT Scanner was recently unveiled in Diagnostic Radiology. The scanner is faster and provides vastly improved three dimensional detail.
