This course follows the guidelines of the American Safety Health Institute. Taught by a Certified CPR Instructor who is also certified by the American Safety Health Institute (ASHI), this class is intended for individuals who require or desire elementary first aid knowledge and skills, with a focus on children. Students will learn basic first aid skills dealing with emergency action steps for an unresponsive or responsive victim, including legal aspects in providing first aid, universal precautions, recovery positions, bleeding, shock, burns, asthma, allergic reaction/anaphylaxis, poisoning, as well as heat and cold-related illness and injury.
Participants will test their knowledge and receive an ASHI Universal First Aid Certification Completion Card, valid for two years. Students should wear comfortable clothing and bring a snack and beverage.
