Women & Children's Services at Marin General Hospital offers women
and children comprehensive medical services with compassionate and
expert care. Whether you are starting a family or need a mammogram, our
team of highly experienced physicians and staff cares for women and
children of all ages.
The Family Birth
Center features private birthing rooms designed with comfort in mind. Since
1952, Marin General physicians and nurses have welcomed over 60,000 babies. The
center includes a Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery as well as 24 hour physician
coverage for obstetrics, pediatrics and anesthesiology. All MGH obstetricians
and pediatricians are board certified. The anesthesiologists on the Women & Children's team are also board certified and have special
experience in obstetrics and pediatric anesthesia.
The Women & Children's nursing team is comprised of dedicated, specially
trained obstetric and neonatal nurses. Our Labor and Delivery team is
trained in support of natural childbirth as well as high risk
deliveries, and is committed to making the birth experience a special,
personal experience for each of our families. Our Neonatal team works in
conjunction with our obstetric staff, our pediatric hospitalists, your
private pediatrician and our neonatal partners at UCSF to ensure that
any family needing special attention for their newborn receives the
highest standard of care in a supportive environment. Team members also
offer a variety of comprehensive childbirth and safety classes.

The Lactation Center provides new moms with the support they
need to successfully breastfeed. The BabyNook store
offers breastfeeding pumps and supplies plus fun gifts for babies and moms
alike. The collaborative approach between our lactation and Birth Center staff
allows us to have one of the highest rates of breastfed babies in California!
Midwifery Services at Marin General Hospital include Certified
Nurse Midwives from Health and Human Services and in private
practice.
Pediatric Services at Marin General Hospital include around the clock
coverage for newborns and children whether in the Birth Center, the
pediatric unit or the Emergency Room.
The Breast Health Services include a multidisciplinary team of
physicians, nurses, technicians and volunteers - all dedicated to the
prevention, education and treatment of breast cancer. The Breast
Diagnostic Center of Marin offers the latest in digital mammography
technology to identify the earliest signs of breast cancer for women age
35 and older. The program features the services of breast health
specialists, registered nurses specially trained in breast health.
Clinical Breast Exams are offered for women in their 20s and 30s and
each year after age 40.
