The Partial Hospital Program provides an alternative to or a
transition from traditional inpatient care for people who experience
moderate to severe psychiatric symptoms.
Both programs include consideration of family issues including family
involvement in treatment planning. Family therapy is available as
indicated or requested.
Individualized treatment includes group psychotherapy, education for
life management, stress reduction education, medication management and
individualized treatment. The therapeutic focus is on symptom relief,
problem solving and improving the person's ability to function
independently.
Patients participate in structured treatment up to five days per week,
usually for four to five hours each day, between the hours of 8:00
a.m. and 4:30 p.m., for one to six weeks, returning home each night.
The program for older adults offers a shorter day, and/or fewer days
per week. Therapy focuses on symptom relief, problem solving and
improving ability to function independently.
