The Marin General Hospital's Board of Directors, made up primarily of volunteer community leaders, makes policy decisions about patient care, finances, strategic planning and community benefits. The Marin Healthcare District owns the hospital's buildings and grounds. The District Board's five members are elected by the public.

Community Outreach
Health Education and Health Screenings
Marin General Hospital is committed to providing a variety of healthcare programs and services to the entire community.
Public education seminars are free or low lost and generally held at MGH. Examples of programs include stress management, diet and disease, nutrition, heart health, creativity and healing, diabetes, learning disabilities, habit control, high cholesterol, plastic surgery, guided imagery, migraines, preventing falls, mental health, hepatitis C, fibromyalgia, tamoxifen treatment for breast cancer, colon cancer and breast health.
Marin General Volunteers
Marin General Volunteers are a diverse group of 400 women, men and teens who perform a variety of jobs at the hospital. As a volunteer, you can make an important difference to both patients and their families. Should you choose to work directly with patients, assignments may include work in the following areas: Emergency Department, medical records, book cart, mail, outpatient surgery, the Marin Cancer Institute, nursing units and patient liaison.
